Who needs Paul the Octopus when you have a Woylie? The Brush-tailed Bettong (Woylie) has stepped up as the ultimate AFL oracle today! If it hops right, the Geelong Cats will take home the 2025 AFL Premiership. If it bounds left, it’s the Brisbane Lions' year. Place your bets. The Woylie has spoken (well… jumped)! 🏆🦘 👇 Let us know who you are backing for the win? 📹 B Leue/AWC | Australian Wildlife Conservancy

Critically endangered Central Rock Rats are making a comeback at Newhaven! Once locally extinct, surveys now show this reintroduced species is thriving both inside AND beyond our feral-proof fence 🤯🥳 During our recent fortnight of Brushtail Possum, Black-footed Rock-wallaby and Golden Bandicoot surveys, CRRs couldn't stop crashing the party... Camera trap detections on sanctuary have nearly quintupled since this time last year. CRRs popped up on 10/10 camera traps outside the feral proof fence

Australia's gardeners may not look flashy, but dig a little deeper and you'll find a hidden world of environmental impact 🌱 Our landscapes are alive with the work of ecosystem engineers—species like termites, bilbies, malleefowl and monitors that actively shape their environment. From building intricate burrows that shelter multiple species to aerating soils and redistributing nutrients, these humble heavy lifters enrich communities, keeping ecosystems healthy and thriving.
